2nd FleX-RAY progress meeting

On the 11 th of March 2021, the consortium of European institutions and companies congregated for a virtual status update meeting. Reaching the 6 th month of our FleX-RAY expedition, representatives from each partner shared their progress and achievements in all the different research areas.

TWI Hellas presented a general overview of the project’s course while focusing on hardware development. In turn, the first data on the scintillating fibre manufacturing and fibre coupling development were shared by RISE and OPTE, respectively. The University of Sheffield addressed detector modelling and image reconstruction algorithm development, while Fraunhofer HHI showcased progress on the 3D shape sensing development front. Finally, TWI Hellas concluded with project management and administrative issues.

The second FleX-RAY progress meeting came to a close with excitement about present updates and anticipation for the advances of the next consortium gathering.
